Lately, things have been moving fast.
It’s been a full couple of months of speaking on panels, designing curriculum for new people managers, working with new clients, leading webinars on navigating change, and preparing to relaunch my podcast, Managing Well. Professionally, it’s been exciting and energizing.
And at home? It’s a bit of a whirlwind. My high school juniors are deep in the end-of-school-year stretch with prom, final exams, and projects. The calendar is full. The car rides are endless.
In the midst of all this, I’ve been sitting with a powerful reminder:
It’s possible to hold two truths at once.
I’m navigating a lot and I wouldn’t trade it.
I’m stretched and I’m grateful.
I’m overwhelmed and I’m present.
Watching my kids get closer to leaving home has given me a new appreciation for this kind of fullness. What sometimes feels chaotic now will soon feel like a memory I’d give anything to relive.
So I’m practicing being present. Not rushing through. Just noticing.
Life doesn’t always get less busy. But we can learn to navigate it with more ease.
What two truths are you holding right now?
What feels frustrating and meaningful?
What feels exhausting and fruitful?
Reply and tell me. I’d love to hear what you’re sitting with.
If one of the truths you’re holding involves a tough conversation you’re avoiding or unsure how to navigate, join me for our next free webinar:
