What struck me the most about the imagines of the bombings in Boston were the people rushing to help other people. I saw police officers, EMT workers, runners, and bystanders rush to open the gates and pick up the stunned and injured.
As with every disaster and crisis that occurs on our Earth it is easy to get distracted and captivated by the horrors and the evil that caused the terror. But what is more striking to me is the humanity and light and love that surfaces when darkness is present. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
Let our light and love and humanity shine brightly today.
