About Us

Our Philosophy & Approach

Change doesn’t happen because people know more. It happens because they have the specific tools and support to do things differently.

Our approach is unique because it’s informed by our background as clinicians. Culture change is always about people. You can have the best research and strategy in the world, but without applying emotional intelligence skills, like making thoughtful decisions rather than reactive ones, understanding the larger context, knowing what motivates others, and communicating respectfully even when disagreeing, nothing lasts.

We understand what drives behavior and what gets in the way. We use that knowledge to help people shift how they communicate, lead, and work together.

We start by listening.

Most people come to us knowing something needs to change, even if they’re not sure how. We ask:

  • What’s not working?
  • What do you wish were different?
  • If you could wave a magic wand, what would success look like?

From there, we build a clear, actionable, and human plan to help you move from insight to implementation.

Knowledge is Good,

Learning new information is the starting point of change, but real and lasting impact comes when we change behavior and take action.

OUR HISTORY

The Ladipo Group didn’t begin with a business plan. It began with frustration.

In the early 2000s, Tonya Ladipo was working in nonprofit mental health organizations, watching the same two patterns unfold:

“When clients looked like me, they got poor service. When they didn’t, they got great care. Either way, when I raised concerns, nothing changed.”

Tired of being ignored and unwilling to replicate harm, Tonya opened a private therapy practice in 2004, focused on serving clients with the care they deserved. It was supposed to be just her, seeing therapy clients and doing meaningful work. But the demand quickly grew. So did the vision.

As the practice expanded, a deeper insight emerged: many clients were struggling not just personally, but professionally.

Conflict at work. Micromanagement. Poor communication. Misunderstood feedback. It became clear that therapy alone couldn’t solve what was happening in the workplace.

By 2010, Tonya stopped seeing therapy clients and focused on expanding The Ladipo Group. She began training other clinicians, hiring staff, and building infrastructure. More importantly, she started asking new questions:

  • What if the workplace itself became a place where people could thrive?
  • What if leaders knew how to lead with empathy and accountability, not just authority?

That vision grew into action.

In 2013, The Ladipo Group formally began consulting with organizations, starting with nonprofits and eventually expanding into corporate spaces. Tonya brought the emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills rooted in therapy to the workplace to help teams move beyond surface-level training and into behavior-based change.

In 2025, Tonya sunsetted the therapy services.

“After years of providing therapy services to thousands of clients and training dozens of therapists, it was time to close the therapy department and fully focus our efforts where we could have the greatest impact – the workplace.”

We focus on helping leaders and teams develop the emotional intelligence skills to communicate clearly, navigate conflict, and lead with their humanity.
