The Power of Saying No

It’s very easy to find ourselves getting burnt out because we can’t say no. If you find yourself saying yes to everything and you realize that you have no time left for yourself, consider these tips. Once you put value to your minutes you will soon realize how saying “NO!” will not only benefit you, but it will also benefit the people around you.

Suggest An Alternative
It can be difficult to say no to things, especially in a work situation. If you feel like someone else is better suited for the task, instead of saying no you can suggest an alternative person and why they are a better fit.

Start Your Sentence With No
It’s easier to say no if you start your sentence with “no” and then offer an explanation. If you’re new to “saying no” it can be easy to unintentionally say yes. So start by saying “no” and ending with an explanation.

Be Honest
Honesty is the best policy. It’s okay if you have other commitments and priorities. Time to yourself or doing what bring you joy should be a priority as well. Your friends, family, and co-workers will understand. They would much rather see you happy and relaxed instead of stressed out and tired.
