The kids are almost out of school and summer is just around the corner. Although summer means laying on the beach relaxing the day away for some people, it can often mean more responsibilities for working parents. The change in schedules from school to camp can cause unexpected stress for parents and kids alike. Here are 3 ways to take the stress out of your summer:
Take A Breath – It’s easy to get caught up in the craziness of life. Do something daily to make help you relax. Stretch when you wake up in the morning or end your day with a walk around the block. It’s amazing how something as simple as ten minutes of prayer or exercise can relax a person.
Make it a Family Affair – Things like cleaning or cooking tend to be another chore for most of the year. Take advantage of your kids being home more and make it a family affair! Find simple recipes that your kids can help you cook and serve. Remember that you don’t have to do it all! Delegation for you is a learning opportunity for another.
Staycations – You may not have the time or money to take a grand family vacation this summer. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t take a break. Visit the tourist spots nearby, go to the movies in the middle of the week, or visit your local amusement park to enjoy the extra time with your family.
