Why is it so easy to put the needs of everyone else (work, family, friends, children, neighbors) before your own needs? You will go the extra mile when someone asks you for help or even when you see someone struggling. You’ll squeeze out an hour to visit a friend or help a co-worker with a project. But you don’t do the same for yourself.
Of course doing for others is a good thing that shouldn’t be stopped! But there needs to be to time, energy, and money spent on your own needs. Otherwise you risk feeling empty and resentful.
Why is your time less valuable than others?
Take a moment to consider what gets in your way of valuing your own time. What do you need to do differently to remember that you and your time is just as valuable as others?
This journey of self-care balanced with caring for others takes practice! Share your success stories and your challenges in the comments section. Let’s learn from each other and grow together.
Need help putting this into practice? Our fall workshops will do just that! Details to come – Learn. Change. Grow.
