As I step into 2025, I’m carrying a word that feels gentle and powerful: Ease. It’s been on my mind lately as I reflect on how I can bring more of it into my professional and personal life.
As a business owner and parent to two teenage daughters, I’m no stranger to juggling a lot. I’ve learned over the years that ease doesn’t mean a stress-free life, and I don’t expect every day in 2025 to be easy. But after the past few years, I’m ready for that deep exhale that comes from knowing how to create more space for ease, even amidst the fullness of life.
One of the guiding principles I’ve built my business on is Excellence with Ease™ and striving for excellence without succumbing to burnout or overwork. As we begin a new year, these are a few questions I’m asking myself to help me create more Ease in my life:
Do I need to continue everything that I did last year?
Just because something was part of my routine last year doesn’t mean it has to carry over into this year. I’m reminding myself to ask: Is this still serving me?
Is there an easier way?
Sometimes, we get stuck doing things the way we’ve always done them. But just because it’s familiar doesn’t mean it’s the most efficient or effective way. I’m looking for smarter, easier ways to get things done.
Am I giving myself enough time to complete a task or have a conversation without rushing?
Rushing can add so much unnecessary stress. I’m consciously carving out the time at a pace that allows me to deliver excellence without being rushed.
As we ease into this new year, consider some ways that you can create ease for yourself without burning out or sacrificing your standards for excellence.
Something to think about
Spend 15 minutes reflecting on when you felt you were operating with ease during your day. How can you replicate that tomorrow?
Something to do
Share your reflections with a trusted colleague or friend. Real change happens when we speak our thoughts aloud and allow others to support and encourage us.
I have a favor to ask of you – I’m growing my email list and would appreciate your help. Would you take a moment and share this email with 3 people who could benefit from these insights and encourage them to sign up? Thank you in advance!
