4 Easy Ways to Calm your Worries & Anxieties

Recently I woke up riddled with anxiety. Rather than suffer through the day I decided to use my Worry Dolls to calm myself. I took out 3 dolls, told each one a specific concern, and laid them on the dresser. When I came home and saw the worry dolls I was surprised that I couldn’t remember all of my worries! It’s not that the worry dolls are magical. But they walked me through four important steps that significantly reduced my anxiety. Try these 4 steps to reduce your anxiety:

  1. Make a list of your  worries and anxious thoughts. Take the time to identify and name each worry.
  2. Get the worry out of your head and body. Write it down, give it to a worry doll, or tell someone your worries.
  3. Take action! What can you do to minimize or eliminate the concern? Is it a work project that you can ask for assistance? Is it a problem in your relationship that needs to be resolved?
  4. Return to the worry at a later time. Has it been resolved? Are you still worried? If the worry is gone make a note of this to remind yourself that you can do something to get rid of your worries. If the worry remains, try something new and different. Ask a friend for their help and suggestions.
