Donnetta is a Board Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. She has over 10 years of pre and post-graduate experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of behavioral/mental health settings.
Donnetta has experience working with those seeking support addressing: depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, relationship issues, life transitions, grief/loss, microaggressions and discrimination in the workplace or alternate settings, self-image, and behavioral issues (in children/adolescents).
Donnetta uses a trauma informed, client centered, holistic, and strengths based approach to counseling. Donnetta utilizes art in therapy sessions as an alternative avenue to exploring and expressing that which may be difficult to articulate. Donnetta tailors art interventions to the individual client’s needs, and looks forward to assessing how clients can benefit from art therapy. Donnetta incorporates additional psychotherapy modalities and interventions as applicable to support the client’s needs.
Donnetta believes it is important for the community to have a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to work through mental health concerns. Donnetta has a deep appreciation for the collaborative process that counseling can provide, with the aim of achieving goals clients have set for themselves. Donnetta is passionate about uplifting the community and has learned that when provided with the appropriate tools, people can be prosperous in the life they choose to lead.
Donnetta attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. Donnetta attended Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy.
Donnetta truly believes in the art of self care. When not working she enjoys relaxing, spending time with family and friends, traveling, engaging in creative outlets, reading, learning, and fostering personal growth.
