“If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.”
– Barack Obama
Kevin Hubbard is a licensed professional counselor. He attended Temple University for both his bachelor’s degree in psychology, as well as his master’s degree in counseling psychology.
Kevin has made it his career to work in communities of color that suffer many injustices, including but not limited to access to quality mental and behavioral health care. Kevin has worked in the African-American community for the last 12 years working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Kevin’s philosophy of care is that therapy is a process that promotes change. People who struggle with life stressors are not alone in their battle. Kevin believes that no issue is too great for an individual to overcome if they are willing to put forth the effort and energy that it takes to confront issues head on. Kevin also believes that as a mental health professional, he must first meet individuals where they are in life in order to understand the extent of their issue or circumstance.
Kevin has continually made efforts to advocate for the black community by speaking publicly at the School District of Philadelphia, training the staff at Philadelphia’s Caring People Alliance, land presenting at the Pennsylvania Childcare Association Conference. He has also taught an introductory psychology course at Temple University.
Aside from his career, Kevin focuses on his own physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Kevin is heavily involved in the youth ministry at his church and also serves as a worship leader and musician.
